Molly! Thank you for your candor. I found myself nodding along constantly while reading this. I, too, have an alarming array of ratty and battered old sports bras that simultaneously make me feel like myself and also deeply juvenile. Keep it coming! I'm here for it.
Yes!! Going to try just regular thinking or perhaps even thinking less (do we like “underthink”?). Can’t make the low key hang but hope to see more like sprout up. 🤗
Molly! So good to read this always. I think you should move or come to Napa where the community is ROCKING. Also, +1 for Book Club return. I think we run in the same "book circles" but, FWIW in case you or anyone else here needs ideas: recent life-changer was Can't Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation. Also strong rec for Emma Gannon's The Success Myth. And next on my to-read list is Screaming On the Inside as well as All the Gold Stars.
Love this, Molly! Im 50 and still not grown :) I think the whole convo around 'adulting' is valuable because 1. it highlights our frustrations and 2. often in a humorous light. Our frustrations are real and sense of humor is a must! Also, from my POV, it's kind of misleading. I think it can also be valuable to see this 'adulting frustration' sentiment as an asset- Im not grown, Im growING and that s a good thing. The world we live in is much more dynamic than our parents world in many ways and especially for women and BIPOC folks. My hope is that we are carving out new paths, understandings, norms, and ways to evolve and contribute that haven't had the environment to exist in the past. We are treating Adulthood as some kind of final destination, which of course it isn't and never could be. I say forget about the growing up and let's just embrace the growing- which is the sense I get from your post and love! XO
Thank you! Humor is SUCH a big part of it. And I love your framing her (of course, you're a master at this). There is no final destination. There can't be!
Molly, this resonated! Was just talking with a friend about the pressure of what "adulting" well looks like a few weeks back. We were both bemoaning things we're not great at. But holy moly: 10K sign up and run! Awesome! Writing this, so great! Hope to see you soon!
That Tower 28 SOS spray saved me so many times last summer while I was sweating to death in my Midtown NYC apartment, wistful for the summer fog of San Francisco

Thank you! I want an update from you. Phone date soon?

I mean one *might* argue that in the end I under-thought most of this newsletter, but I'm trying not to obsess!! And here's to more sprout ups.
HI Molly! What's the best way to get in touch with you? Love to talk to you about a project/consulting gig.

Love a book list. Also I want to hear more about Napa life. I love to hear the community is rocking up there! Better than the east bay?

Normalize not being great at things! I am so there.

It's SO good!
Great read. I need to look for those gummies. And yes, on Good Culture.
I...ordered them on the internet? Not proud, but have to be honest. Miss you!
