Mischief Makers 💥💫🚀
Hey hey,
You can't come to The Assembly without seeing our love of mischief. It's there for you as you transition from the downstairs studio and garden up to the clubhouse. Make Mischief. Changing yourself, your world, our world doesn't come with staying between the lines and following all the rules. Having a vision for yourself that is ambitious, big, wild, and untethered...that's the kind of mischief we always welcome.
We've had some incredible guests stand with these words — women like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who isn't afraid to make a little good trouble on her way to disrupt the whole damn thing in DC. Women like you. Maybe you've paused a moment under these words or taken a selfie. Maybe you've run past them on your way to get to class. Maybe you've never been to The Assembly and only look from afar — those words are for you too.
Make your mischief to make the world better.
This week at our holiday party, we handed out our first Make Mischief Awards to women in media, arts, entrepreneurship, activism, and fitness who bring other women along by showing them what it looks like to believe. They lead the way and honor those who came before them. These women are changing the world for the better right now and we all know that the world needs that more than ever.
Kate Scott has made history as a female sportscaster and sideline reporter. Shonna Chiles created ConfiDance to spread body positivity and movement to women of all ages. Ashley Wellington-Fahey built The Relish to democratize athletic commentary and give women voices. Kimberly Ellis is the Disruptor in Chief powerhouse who is leading California and the California Democratic Party to a better future. Where these women go, we follow. Who are your #mischiefgoals? We honor her too.
These women are inspiring. They are all of us.
As Kimberly so kindly said, The Assembly is leading the way in creating a new kind of community. It is one that is grounded in taking care of ourselves and those around us. It is being unafraid to do things differently. It is finding ways to feel a little better about ourselves every day. It is bringing each other along on the adventure.
Honor your inner mischief maker. Always always.

And finally, part of sharing a few of the products and companies I've loved this year. Gift yourself:
The moment I first read about ForDays, a new zero waste closed loop t-shirt company, I was bought in. Refresh your tees anytime. Send the old ones in to be recycled, you get a new tee in the mail for $8.
These overalls (warning, these are slightly over my $150 limit for these recs...but worth it). I have them in black and white.
For those of us who choose skincare based on chic bottles (dreaming of that perfect #shelfie), great companies founded by women, and of course how good they feel on your face, my two clear winners for 2018 are: Circumference day serum and Monastery Rose Oil.
You don't know how good working out can feel until you do it in the right socks. I am a devotee of Balega (and truly think they're a perfect gift) for all running and classes that require shoes. For daily life, the Bombas no-show socks are fantastic.
Take care of yourself and see you soon.
xo,
Molly
