Zero Chill Necessary, Grounding Provided
Hello you,
Since Official Holiday Season now begins immediately after Halloween, which this year coincides with an extremely critical election, it is, rightfully so, very hard to have any chill at the moment. It's high stress and high stakes.
Repetition of behavior is a drum beat we can all use. Routines. Rituals. Practices. Like so many of us, I am fascinated about everyday practices that other people work into their lives. What are the skin care products that are your small meditations? How does chopping vegetables give you a sense of control in an out of control world? Why do you pull a tarot card every morning?
This November and December, I want to dig into the grounding routines that keep us taking care of ourselves no matter what comes our way with travel, parties, disrupted schedules, news, and stressful interactions. I hope you find something here that makes your days and routines serve you.
I'm working on getting better at rituals (like having an actual "skin" "care" "regimen"), but I love to hear about other people's. It's completely normal and understandable for months with lots of change and big events like holiday to feel overwhelming. Let's get through this together.
Three things I did to for myself this week:
A meal for one: Sweet Potato Chickpea Buddha Bowl. To be that annoying person who subbed everything out, I did cauliflower rice and kale instead of chickpeas. Tahini is awesome.
Fell hard for a new clean beauty eyebrow pencil & spoolie from PYT.
Listened to Victory Boyd.
I'm excited to off November with The Class by TT — a workout rooted in breaking through your truest self by repetitive movement — this weekend. If you can't make it, I'll be sharing some of their best tips, tricks, and routines in coming weeks.
This is the last newsletter before the Midterm Elections. So: vote, remind someone you know in another state to vote, encourage that friend of yours who says their vote doesn't matter to vote, come by for our Monday text banking at The Assembly. Join us for election night at The Assembly as well.
Hope to see you soon.
xo,
Molly
